Construction of the infrastructures and installation of the Open Fiber Ultra-Broadband fiber network in the white areas of the Liguria region, for municipalities in the provinces of Genoa, Imperia, La Spezia and Savona.
The project involves the creation of the ultra-fast Open Fiber network in Fiber To The Home (FTTH) mode, with speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps).
The PSC Group was awarded the tender with the best technical-economic offer, submitting its know-how in the management of complex technological projects to the Principal.
In addition to the FTTH network, we created websites with FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) technology so that we could also cover households scattered throughout the territory in places that are difficult to reach.
Open Fiber intends to serve more than 100 municipalities in the Liguria region through its network in just 24 months.
Description of the works
The on-site activity consists in the realization of the entire fiber optic network architecture, from the installation of the NDP (Neutral Delivery Point), which in the C&D Areas indicates the physical interconnection place where the access network ends, up to the individual Property Units.
In addition to the installation and testing of the optical fiber with the related equipment, the project also involves the execution of all the civil works necessary for the installation of the fiber (excavations with non-destructive techniques and subsequent restoration of road surfaces).
The implementation involves the management of over 100 construction sites distributed in the 4 provinces of Genoa, La Spezia, Savona and Imperia.
