PSC is directly and indirectly controlled – through the holding company PSC PARTECIPAZIONI S.p.A. – by the Pesce family, having been founded by Emidio Pesce, father of Umberto, Angelo and Annalisa.
In 2014, Simest S.p.A. – a company controlled by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A., the major Italian promotional institution for economic development controlled by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and owned by over 60 banking foundations – acquired a share in the capital stock of PSC, increasing its participation in 2016 through a further reserved capital increase. To date it holds a 9.64% share.
In 2018, Fincantieri S.p.A. – already owned by IRI since its foundation, with 71.6% controlled by Fintecna S.p.A., the finance company of the Ministry of Economy and Finance – acquired a 10% share in the capital stock of the PSC Group through a reserved capital increase.
